| Having been noted for her
‘electric presence’ and a voice that is ‘lovely and seamless’, soprano
Erin Stewart has delighted audiences with her artistry, powerful stage
presence, and clear, sparkling voice. Erin was recently seen
covering the role of Christine Dae in the Broadway national tour of The
Phantom of the Opera, where she performed for audiences all across
America and Canada. She made her Broadway debut in NYC with
Phantom in 2004. In July of 2008, Erin will perform in an Evening of Steven Forster’s Songs at the Finger Lakes Chamber Music Series. Also, in the fall of 2008 she will perform in “Dialogues of the Travelers” at The Kirk Theatre at Theatre Row. Most recently Erin made her debut with The Arts Center of Coastal Carolina in Hilton Head, SC as Guinevere in Camelot where her performance garnered such praise as ‘stunning’ and ‘luxurious’. This past August, Erin made her debut with Opera Cleveland as Anne in A Little Night Music. Opera News stated ‘Erin Stewart's Anne Egerman was beautifully youthful and poised.’ Erin has had the pleasure of working with such greats as Hal Prince, Paul Gemingani, Paul Ford, and Mario Fratti, (best known for his musical Nine). In July 2005 Erin made her appearance as Barbarina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at Metro Lyric Opera under the baton of Anton Coppola. Other opera credits include Nora in Riders to the Sea, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, and Nancy in Albert Herring. She was also a member of the Caramoor Young Artist Festival under the direction of Will Crutchfield where she sang the role of Adina in scenes of L’elisir d’amore. Ms. Stewart’s numerous recitals and concerts have reflected her profound passion for exploring contemporary repertoire. She has performed many new works around New York City in such venues as Merkin Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Gould Hall, the Liederkranz, and El Museo del Barrio. In February of 2006 in New York City she returned to Yamaha Studios in conjunction with The Young Soloists Chamber Society of New York to present two world premiers by Craig Woodward and Lyudmila German. In the spring of 2004 Erin was selected along with pianist Craig Woodward to participate in ‘The Concerts at One Recital Series’ at St. Paul’s Chapel in connection with Trinity Church. Erin and flutist Dorothy Wu collaborated to form the classical duo “The Nightingale”. In 2005 they presented a recital at the Yamaha Studios in NYC and their group was awarded a concert at Weill Recital Hall by the Artists International Competition. Erin received her Masters in Voice Performance from the Manhattan School of Music. 07/03/08 |
