Yulia Ezova Frenkel, a native of the Ukraine, resides in New York City.  She recently performed a series of concerts and recitals at the Donnell Library in New York City.  Ms. Frenkel sang an Opera Gala concert with Opera at Florham of New Jersey.  Ms. Frenkel has appeared with Opera Santa Barbara as Nella in Gianni Schicchi and Sister Dolcina in Suor Angelina.  In recent seasons she sang Mimi in La Bohéme with Amato Opera Theatre and returned to Amato Opera for performances as Micaela in Bizet’s Carmen, followed by a reprise of Mimi in La Bohéme for New Rochelle Opera, in NY. 
    Ms. Ezova Frenkel performed many familiar arias for the  Metro Lyric Opera Gala and was Georgette, in Puccini’s Il Tabarro, at Brooklyn College, and Countess Ceprano and Paggio in Verdi’s Rigoletto under the baton of Anton Coppola, at The Altamura Center for Arts and Cultures.  
    A student of Mignon Dunn and a graduate of the Jerusalem Acadamy of Music in Israel she has had many opportunities to perform around the world.  These roles include Micaela in Carmen, and covered the title role in Manon Lescaut, with IVAI in Tel Aviv, and performed  Tatiana in Eugene Onegin with the Ashdod Chamber Opera, in Jerusalem. In 2006, she will sing Sistter Dolcina in Suor Angelica and Nella in Gianni Schicchi at Opera Santa Barbara.
    Other roles include Violetta in Traviata, Liu in Turandot, Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly, Contessa in Le Nozze di Figaro, and Nedda in I Pagliacci.  Her dark and silvery soprano voice has won her much acclaim.  Awards include the winner of the Connecticut 50th Annual Scholarship Auditions.  She was a finalist in the VIII Altamura/Caruso International Voice Competition, and a prize winner for the Jerusalem Leider Competition.
