"...the real star of the show is its villain, Crown, that's because Timothy Robert Blevins invests him with a powerful, burnished baritone, a strong set of acting chops, a swaggering confidence and a body-builder's torso that deserves co-star billing."
                        The Washington Post, Joe Banno

Timothy Robert Blevins is one of the most astounding artists working in the lyric theater, more akin to a force of nature than a performer.  Recently, Mr. Blevins starred as the Beggar/Happy Mac in a much-anticipated revival of Duke Ellington’s Beggar’s Holiday at Opera Theater of Pittsburgh, a retelling of The Threepenny Opera. Last season he made his debut with Opéra National de Lyon as Crown in Porgy and Bess, which he will revisit in the Fall of 2010.  In the coming seasons he is also set to perform Crown at Virginia Opera, the Edinburgh Festival, and Atlanta Opera, a signature role that he has performed at New York City Opera, Michigan Opera Theater, Connecticut Opera, and Pablo Casal's Festival in Puerto Rico.

At Grand Théâtre de Genève, Mr. Blevins created the role of Miguel in the world premiere of Tania Leon's opera The Scourge of Hyacinths, which he later sang at the National Theater of Mexico City, L’Opera de Nancy, and St. Polten Festspielhaus.  The Lyric Opera of Chicago featured Mr. Blevins in the world premiere of Anthony Davis' opera Amistad, singing the title role in the matinee performances.  Mr. Blevins is a regular guest at the Ludwigsburg International Festival, singing numerous recitals and appearances in Così fan tutte, Nabucco, and Le nozze di Figaro.  He appeared with Julia Migenes in a gala performance with Stuttgart State Orchestra, under the baton of Eugene Kohn, in an open-air concert at the Mainau Castle, Lake Constance, Germany.

Additional highlights include Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro at Toledo Opera and Virginia Opera, Escamillo in Carmen at Connecticut Opera, Il barbiere di Siviglia with the Polish National Symphony Orchestra at Fort de France (Martinique), and Ford in Falstaff with ‘Luciano Pavarotti and Friends' at the Opera Company of Philadelphia.

Mr. Blevins made his Broadway debut as Sgt. John in Miss Saigon, a role he repeated in the Stuttgart Production. Additional Broadway and Off-Broadway credits include Showboat, both Sweet Adeline and One Touch of Venus for the New York City Center's Encore Series, the new Disney production of King David for the re-opening of the New Amsterdam Theatre, and as Husky Miller in the Goodspeed Opera House production of Carmen Jones at Lincoln Center's Miller Theater.

Mr. Blevins was recently featured on the soundtracks of Disney’s animated film, Home on the Range, as well as Disney’s 2007 hit film, Enchanted, where he sings the Steel Drum Player for the Oscar-nominated song, “That’s How You Know”. In addition, he can be heard on the soundtrack for Malcolm X.  He has also made a guest appearance on “As the World Turns”.
